Rayya Elias (born in 1960 – died January 4, 2018) was an American Musician, Writer, Director, and Author from Warren, Michigan. She was famous for being the partner of Elizabeth Gilbert (American author, essayist, biographer, novelist, and memoirist). Furthermore, the 57-year-old writer started her career by joining the “Post Punk Scene” (Detroit club).

Later, she started a band with Kory Clarke named “Warrior Soul“. Moreover, Elias published her first book titled “HarleyLoco” as an author.

The book was published by Viking in the USA and Bloomsbury in the UK and the Commonwealth. In addition, the writer also released six songs with Morrison (her band member) for the book.

Rayya and Gilbert came out as a couple and confirmed about their relationship in 2016. The same year, Elias was diagnosed with cancer. Elizabeth also wrote a post on Facebook that she divorced her husband José Nunes. The author and her partner also engaged each other in a private ceremony in June 2017.
