Kailasavadivoo Sivan (born April 14, 1957) is an Indian Space Scientist from Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu (India). He is serving as the Chairperson of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) from January 2018.
Furthermore, he recognized his name i.e. K. Sivan. He was earlier the Director in the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center. He handled the duties of the Liquid Propulsion Systems Center. Sivan is working for the ISRO since 1982.
The ISRO launched the Chandrayaan 2 on July 24, 2019. He came in the spotlight because of the mission. Though, Sivan felt dejected when the ISRO moon mission lost the connection. On the other hand, the 95% mission carried out successfully under his leadership.
India became the first country in the world preferred for the soft landing on the moon. K Sivan shattered on the mission news. The Indian Prime Minister i.e. Narendra Modi was also present in the ISRO center in Bengaluru. Then, Modi hugged the ISRO Chief and consoled him. He also congratulated the team on their achievement.
