I’m like a ninja ballerina. But it took me many years to feel this confident working out again. At 19, the doctor told me I had some weird illness and that I would have to retire from my beloved sport and basically give up my whole life. I hear stories like this so often. They do a bunch of random tests, nothing comes up, so they give you pain killers, muscle relaxers and anti-depressants and wish you luck. They don’t get to the root. They don’t use food as medicine. 2 years after my initial “diagnosis” of Fibromylgia, after hallucinating from the meds, after drinking and taking pills, after wanting to die, I finally said “screw it.” I got off everything. I’ve dedicated my entire life to my health, to advocating for myself and to being a voice for people who may not have the tools or resources to use theirs yet. I won’t stand for anyone suffering alone. I love the community I am building. I love that everyone in my circle is committed to furthering the conversation around alternative medicine + health and the concept of the mind-body connection. We all have choices in this life. Choose more for yourself. Listen to your body. Ask questions. Don’t take no for an answer. If I had listened to that doctor at 19, I would either be on a slew of drugs and bed-ridden or dead. There’s so much more for you. Ask for it. Be open to it. Show yourself what you’re capable of. You’ll be amazed at your own power + resilience if you just trust. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #podcasts #podcasting #womensupportingwomen #healthylivingtips #mentorship #livingclean #savvybusinessowner #wellnessjourney #wellnessblogger #healingjourney #autoimmunedisease #autoimmuneprotocol #paleolifestyle #aip #autoimmunepaleo #holistichealing #holisticliving #functionalmedicine #ladybosses #risingtide #womenentrepreneur #fempreneur #bossbabemovement #findyourself #nontoxicliving #nontoxicbeauty #greenlifestyle #greenbeautyblogger #chemicalfree
