Patricia De Lille (born February 17, 1951) is a South African Politician from Beaufort West. Presently, she is serving as the Mayor of Cape Town. Furthermore, she is the founder and head of Independent Democrats. Patricia started the party in 2003. Later on, she broke alliances with Pan Africanist Congress (PAC).
During 2010, her party merged with Democratic Alliance. By 2014, both parties dissolved together. Now, the mayor is facing big legal trouble. A full council meeting conducted on Thursday. It is regarding the malfunctioning and corruption in the City Transport Department. After her speech at the meeting, five council members resigned from their posts.
Recently, she released a tender regarding the transport system of Cape Town. The estimated cost is around $400,000. Though, the tender has canceled now. In the report of the two Bowmans, it is clearly mentioned about the public transport system. De Lille is taking legal advice to move further.
